Why were there so many protests when it approached £1/L but now it's gone over and keeps on climbing no-one says a thing [thumbdown]

Because once their spirit has been broken they stop caring. It's like people who get beat up. The first time you put up a fight. The second you might yell. After that you just take your beatings.
