Can you build an HTPC for nearly 120USD (the current selling price) that is silent and outputs 1080P? What about operating costs?

What about the interface? Mouse and keyboard? No thank you.

I believe that the remote and GUI are worth the 120USD alone. Not to mention the fact that you can have a low power file server running 24/7.
I can see your point and agree with that, considering the lower selling price. I guess part of my argument is that I already have a large infrastructure of tech in place that I can use to do these things. If that isn't there, then I could see how this would be appropriate.

However, I still distrust the efficacy of such an instrument, as I've had issues with routers I've used handling the bitrates of some of my .mkv's flawlessly. Which is why I ultimately went to lengths to hard wire my computer to the HDTV.

Have you had any problems streaming files 25 Mbps+ with this?
