Do you really think that thermal goop conducts heat better than polished copper? Is that why the heatsinks are made of thermal goop?

You sound like you are more suited for physics vs engineering. Does omitting thermal grease make things run cooler? No? OK, so we have now determined there is more to the equation than just the conductivity of the heatsink.
