More like judgemental guesswork. While it's more than likely the case, why set yourselves up to look stupid if it isn't.

Picking the most likely cause of death isn't going to make you look stupid, especially to the vast majority of people who are thinking the exact same thing.

Now, if he was in a plane crash and you said "drugs" you would look stupid, but when a "rock" drummer dies without noticeable physical trama, then it is a pretty safe bet.
