I'm glad you got off but sorry but I think that's terrible advice. No matter if you are innocent and it's the cops word against yours you will loose 99 times out of 100. If the cop hadn't made a mistake you would have been found guilty. Once you are found guilty the penalty is much harsher.

Also in Australia the cop doesn't even have to show for court and they just go by the report they filed. [help]

Actually, if you plead guilty, they will usually drop the fine and points in half. If you go through trial and then get found guilty, you get stuck with the original citation.
