The worst part is that the cop doesn't even have to show up. He can waste your time knowing it's a completely BS ticket and nothing happens to him when he doesn't show.

Well, if he doesn't show it's automatically thrown out. Also, a Judge or Magistrate isn't going to let that slide. Sure, nothing on the books will happen to the Officer, but something does happen. Officers don't want to be on the bad side of a Judge just as much as a normal civilian.

Also, a Judge or Magistrate isn't going to let that slide. Sure, nothing on the books will happen to the Officer, but something does happen. Officers don't want to be on the bad side of a Judge just as much as a normal civilian.
