that part you bolded should have the modifier "more" in front of it. As it is certainly not enviromentally friendly or fuel efficient... though compared to other birds it is more enviromentally friendly and fuel efficient.

Though i gotta say, for longer flights i still feel safer in a 4 engine bird.

Actually, if you work out the amount of fuel consumed per person per mile, aeroplanes can be more fuel efficient than cars.
