Well I got a notice in the post today that I have a speeding fine and 6 months suspension of my licence. This is the penalty for going 43km over the limit (100km limit).

Umm, no ya didn't. It was lost in the mail. That'd be my story.

Wow, and all the abrasiveness about how you were speeding from other members. You guys should never come to the US and drive... 90 in a 60 (roughly equivelant) is seen all the time over here, though at least in Texas, we don't have a point system where you will actually just reach that limit and then lose your liscense. Instead, we have a system where when you reach 6 points, you then have to start paying surcharges or then you will lose your liscense. They are not really that much, $100 for the 7th point and $25 for each point thereafter, plus other ticket related fees.
