I never said I would never walk it or ride it, infact today I bought a bike lock in preperation so I can ride around the local area. When I was living in the city a couple of months ago my walk to work was 2.2km...

Now how long does it take to get to your place of work spoon?

So far it's looking like this....

15 walk + 5 waiting time = 20.
bus travel time plus waiting for train 15 + 5 = 20.
Train travel 40 + 5 walk to work = 45.

Total 85 minutes to get to work.

Now typically I catch a 7:20pm train home so in reverse looks like I'll get home 8:35pm.

Long day. [yawn]
It actually takes me about the same length of time,

20mins to walk to station + 5mins safety time so I don't miss it = 25
35mins on underground
0-5mins at station to change to another train (sometimes I'm lucky and it's already there)
10mins on underground again
5mins walk from station

So 80mins for me, although given that I take the tube you can increase all the underground times by 50% due to delays depending on if the day has a "Y" in it or not [rolleyes]

Although I could catch a bus from right outside my flat and cut the 20 min walk down to 5 mins (which I do if its raining hard) but I realised I actually do no exercise at all so I figured 40mins walking a day is better than nothing.

But anyways while it's annoying, if you actually look at it, when coming home it's only the walking part that's extra so your going to be getting in at 8:35pm instead of 8:20pm... are you really going to miss those 15 mins?
