Default BS from verizon
Well yesterday was nov the 6th, aka droid day for us verizon customers. As i'm in the need for a new phone, and have been lusting after this phone for awhile now, i decided to go down to the closest corp store and get myself one. As i'm still on contract i knew i'd be paying full price for it and that didn't bother me one bit. So i get there, wait in queue for a good 30min or more tell it was my turn to be helped.

I get up to the counter, tell the women what i want, she goes "well your still in contract" so i told her that i knew and was just going to buy the phone outright when what happens? Her fat piece of lard store manager interjects that i couldn't buy the phone then due to "legal reasons" considering it is a "open access" and "open experience" phone. [cursing] Now right away my BS meter was pegging deep in the brown (get it? [rofl]) and i called her on it. She kept on stating legal reasons and she didn't know anything more further. Now due to my job i've grown to be able to see signs when someones lying to me or if they are being truthful. Now i'm not saying i see everything, but the signs on this women were hard to miss. I called her on it again, saying i know you can buy it as you can buy it online full price no problem. She still kept stating her legal crap reason.

So pissed off at being lied to like that, i leave, go get dinner, and then head to walmart. Walk straight back to the electronics dept to see if they have any there. Ask the guy and he goes "yea, we have them. let me check with my area rep to see if we can sell those yet". 5 min later he's ringing it up no problem what so ever.

Now my question is this, has anyone with verizon (or any other company for that matter) been lied to like this about not being able to get a phone? I mean i know why she was lying, it was so they have the phone in stock for people switching over (aka new accounts) or people who are renewing their account. Which is complete bs considering it's a corp store and not an authorized retailer where they would get more profit from these new accounts or people re-upping their contracts.
