yeah i just looked at their plans....

this is BS, if someone could explain, please do.

I had an all data plan originally for my Dare... ok, unlimited web surfing, vz navigator, texts, picture messsages email.. the works... it was 79$ plan with 450 anytime minutes...

the same plan on a smartphone is $99... wtf is the difference?!

The reasoning behind making you have a smartphone data addon is because smartphones, on average, use more data then your average dumb phone. You have to either choose a smartphone plan at $99, or you an go nation select for $59.99 and get the $30 addon so it's only $89.99 then. Granted you don't get vz navigator with it or anything, with the select or smartphone plan, depending on your phone you wont' need to pay them for gps as it's right there on the phone to use. Like the moto droid i just got, it has google navigator on there. I dont' have to pay verizon crap to use it. So my bill is $89 + taxes every month now.

In retrospect instead of activating the phone myself right as i bought it, i should have gone back to the verizon store and had them activate it for me. The look on that managers face would have been priceless.
