Phone the branch manager and ask why you had to purchase one of their products from a competitor! Most will take this sort of thing very seriously - especially if you give the impression that others may also be getting the same runaround and going to the opposition. It may not actually be the shop manager that is at fault - it may be a directive from further up the food chain and he could have faced disciplinary action if he'd actually sold the product to you without a new contract, for example. Even if you don't get through to him, the calls are logged and you've a better chance of a satisfactory personal response if you just leave your phone number - I hate the e-mail automated BS responses.
