Never seen it on a street car. Dirt/asphault oval cars can use it, though its not allowed in nascar. Supposed to help dampen load spikes in the suspension.

As far as the video goes, I love watching suspension work on cars. Really helps to understand how suspension works when you can see it in action.

Then you should enjoy these - plus some of the links are good!
I especially like the front end one and the NASCAR rotating camera ones.
