single holiday doesnt appeal to me, why pay to go all the way to a different country to be alone/with a bunch of randomers.

I can do that for free by walking outside right now.

Because your primary reason for visiting the country would be to see the country itself rather than as just somewhere nice to hang out with friends/family.
