But what I'm saying is that we've seen something like the big crazy burgers in the US before, so really the mega multi layers of beef in a burger is mostly American thing so far. Not really something the Japanese are known for.

I can get a burger with lots of meat anywhere- not an exclusive of america nor is this the fist time japan has had a large burger. Burger's are so popular in japan that even burger king itself has a piss poor market share there (crushed by the native Mos Burger). To say that burgers (or big burgers) aren't japanese is ludicrous. Yes the hamburger originated in america- beyond that nothing.
