Meetings (For TAFE)
This thread is for a TAFE class..Not by any means necessary to respond to it
Every meeting, regardless of how informal it is and who the attendees are, can be made more effective by sending out a meeting notice, having an agenda ready and keeping minutes. Even the smallest and most minor meetings should have these documents prepared. Discuss whether you think this statement is correct?
Why is it necessary for some meetings to be preceded by sending out reports and other documentation to attendees? How can meetings be made more effective through the effective preparation of Documentation?
Large, publicly listed companies such as NAB, BHP Billiton and Coles Myer conduct massive Annual General Meetings (AGM) that all share holders are invited to. Discuss how these corporations might prepare for these events. What documents and other aspects of their preparation would be prepared solely to satisfy legal requirements? What other non-legal documentation is provided?
Imagine you were organising a virtual meeting, with attendees located in Sydney, Perth, Auckland and Singapore. Videoconferencing is being used to connect the participants with each other . What additional steps, preparations and precautions would you take as you organised the meeting in relation to the documentation that need to go out to the attendees?
