Why? the crown vic is built in Canada, and the Holden has an American engine anyway. So it evens out the "american-ness" of it.

If they really see that as a problem they are more clueless than I thought.
Well the guys working the production line are still in Australia. That's taking away American jobs.

Though overall it would be a good move by GM to make better leverage from Holden and make use of the Elizabeth (Adelaide) plant. The WM Statesman/Caprice isn't a viable car to produce in Australia unless its exported, as local demand for it isn't strong, you do get a lot of bang for ya buck from the Statesman. The biggest exports of the car going to the Middle East, especially since the car beat Lexus for car of choice for the Middle East.
Making a US cop car from it is a great idea to further push sales.

The commodore can survive with the local market, as it's always popular.

I think on the whole the cop car looks pretty smart, and will meet the needs of the US police. Though they should ship it with some wicked black alloy wheels. [thumbup]
