How so? The SS stacks up pretty well against the Charger and definitely against the Crown Victoria.

Afaik no agency uses the 5.3l SS as the police car. Most agencies use the 3.9L v6 which has 233HP.

This is the current offerings for most agencies. Anything else is really just special purpose.

These numbers show that the impala is a bit quicker than the crown vic, but the crown vic can not only attain a higher speed but also can "handle it's own weight" at those speeds. Also, getting in and out of an Impala with all your gear is quite difficult in a impala.
