And do it just to cure boredom? Allow me to explain. I currently am self employed, and find myself with a lot of time on my hands. It's almost as if I purposely take my sweet time with the things I need to do to fill up a day and feel "fulfilled." Many would consider me to be lucky, but when everyone around you is working a 9 to 5, it's a bit lonely being the only one that I know with this type of schedule. I mean I literally wake up at 12pm and go to bed at 3 or 4am. Granted, while I always fill my day with activities like working out, biking, fishing, jogging etc., there still seems to be a part of me that yearns to do something more.
I would kill to have this lifestyle as a career. Teach me your ways. I shall be your apprentice!

As for the job issue, if it was me and I didn't need...HELL NO...I would be too lazy, however...the job would definitely make your day feel more interesting.

But I would still kill to have that lifestyle permanently
