I used to be in a similar situation some years ago, doing some freelance work at home, so i practically controlled my own time and i would say 80% of the time i would be doing the things i like to do. I could wake up in the afternoon and fall asleep in the morning...

but as you mentioned, it does get really lonely and boring since everyone else is caught up in the loop of working regular hours. working a regular 9-5 job like everyone else might seem really far more boring at first, but it helps you appreciate your free time a lot more.. and of course, some extra money never hurt anyone [yes]
