Maybe one of your DVDs has a THX optimizer, I think Disney Blu-rays may also have one too. If you have a PC connected to the TV there's Nokia Monitor Test: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multime...tor-Test.shtml

Get a greyscale up, make sure each of the bars is well defined and visible (blacks and whites are not crushed) and go from there.
