Totally inaccurate headline from the Telegraph there - Armstrong and Aldrin were never involved; the rock was given by the then American ambassador to Holland. A genuine sample would have been certainly handed over and I'll bet money on it being swapped by some light-fingered museum staff at some point in the past.
Hell, it might not have even made it to the museum to begin with. It was a long time between when it was given to the PM and when it was given to the museum.
