The first batch for the year with the 5.4L has already been sold off. 1,500 units.

I'd suspect that Ford will be able to sell a decent amount of these. They think, doing their research, that this SVT would sell better than a street performance based SVT. I think that they went the right direct, because they already have the Harley-Davidson S/C Edition and the Saleen models that crank out 450hp and 500ft.lbs, that are still slow and still don't sell very well at all.
I don't think actually that I have ever seen a Saleen F-150 which look bada$$ and I have never seen a Rousch modified truck either which push the same power. If Ford made a street SVT, it would have been no different than these trucks, maybe slightly better.

Who cares if the user keeps it in the Garage. The thing is bada$$ and owners can do whatever they want with it. Its a free country.
Ford sells so many F-150's, I am sure that if Ford is losing money off this SVT, their sales of other F-150's greatly make up the difference in losses on the SVT. Though, this truck I am sure will be the only F-150 that will sell ABOVE MSRP.

Side question: When a dealer is able to sell items above MSRP, does the dealer get to keep on that extra money, or does a percentage half to go back to the car manufacture?
