I heard that Internet is expensive is slow and expensive in New Zealand (compared with other developed nations around the world). Is this true?

If it's true, is it because their Internet signals come and go through satellite rather than undersea cables?
What?

First of all, NZ internet speeds are on par with Australia's, I'm pretty damned sure they have ADSL2+ over there. Second of all their prices are also on par with Australia's and probably even cheaper. And what do you mean they use satellites? Australia's undersea cables I'm pretty sure have to connect to NZ before connecting to the US. And because they have a smaller population they probably have more bandwidth then us Australians.

I think the internet here is great but I believe it's better in NZ.
