I hate to break this to you, but when your target audience is the 12-24 age group...it is a childrens show.
While you're probably right that its target audience is around 12-30 (as is with most sci-fi series, I guess), your definition of "childrens show" is weak. Also, your personal issue with suspension of disbelief would be rather critical when it comes to scifi series, have you considered the possibility that that's a personal thing?

On that note, have you also considered the possibility that people infer things that may not be correct? You call someone illiterate for inferring incorrectly - while calling him illiterate means you're inferring yourself based on very little information. (And obviously, regardless of your exaggeration, you're factually incorrect.)

Last but not least, even though I never meant for the thread to turn into a comparison between series, Firefly won plenty of awards as well and enjoys a lot of popularity. The Wire on the other hand, excellent as it may be, apparently always struggled to keep its audience interested. I'd argue that a television show that can't keep an audience is inherently flawed - if your show doesn't match the audience, you're failing to meet consumer demand and that's a rather vital part of television I believe. Now, I don't mean to say that that makes one show better than the other (both shows were troubled by things other than their quality), but I do feel that if you're going to call shows "utter crap" there should at least be some shred of truth in it.

apparently, not only do you very little knack for sarcasm, but you are illiterate also.
Apparently you're rude and when it's pointed out to you it only gets worse.
I find it curious that you're coming off as barbaric as you are.
That said, they all use the same formula and in ten years will be forgotten. The Wire is like hillstreat blues or MASH. It broke the mold and will be remembered for and heralded because of it. ...by all the people who didn't watch it.
