Maybe that's why there aren't that many viewers. Realism is boring, and crime dramas are overabundant on TV. There is bound to be one show that loses out; broadcast TV has enough shows for drama fans.

Also, a show that appeals more to those people who are in urban areas, and not really those in suburban or rich neighborhoods, then you aren't going to get a lot of people with HBO.
