I once destroyed an Athlon 1400 Thunderbird when I put the heat sink on the wrong way around. Crunch! Problem was I did want the PC it was a ****ing good chip at the time.

I still don't understand why they put that tiny bit of silicon on those chips without some decent protection. Unless it was to double their sales. LOL
Same here.. with my AthlonXP 1800+ ..... wrong placement on the hsf.. and it died..
