I also don't understand the stink about the virtual keyboard. Now, don't get me wrong - when I didn't have an iPhone myself, I thought it was a terrible idea, and the few times I used someone else's I really didn't like it. As a matter of fact I was about to get the G1 instead, because of the keyboard.

Yet when you actually get the hang of it (takes 2-3 days of using it, at most), you can type REALLY fast... much faster than a hardware keyboard will allow you... with very reasonable accuracy.
I found the same thing. Once you have got used to it it's incredibly fast to type on. As long as you are standing still.

It's weird. People would think nothing of spending a few days learning how to use a new piece of software but if a mobile phone doesn't instantly perform how they expect it's written off.
