I´d say:

honey, you know that thing i do every morning ? You know the get up, get dressed, work my ass off to earn money thing ?
Yeah exactly, Work, well i´m going to spend some of that money i´ve earned,..

That would pretty much end the discussion.

But then again i for one wouldn´t ever ask my wife if i can spend my money,..
that would be kinda strange.
