Clearly the Z is the correct choice. It has a perfectly fair sticker price and is an extremely well built and quality automobile. There's no sense in paying $4 grand to tag a used auto. In fact, how the hell is that even legal for them to rape you like that...

Sweeten the deal by giving her your car. Also, cobalts are meh. Your car will hold up longer than hers, so ditch the cobalt and get the Z. This gives her a better, more reliable automobile (I assume your current car has no probs?) as well as dodging the taxes. It also makes you happy. Happiness is important. You drive it EVERY single day. You need to enjoy your drive. After trade in the price is nothing to worry about at all.

She'll be happy in your old car, and you'll be happy in your new car. Makes perfect sense.
