You can get 15.4" notebooks with the 9800M GS for $700 less Or even ones based on the new HD4 series radeons.

Hell you can get a 14.1" with an HD4650 and 2.66ghz dual core heh.

Ok so the resolution is lower but much more portable and far more horsepower.

Apple are packing an old set of hardware into a huge case and charging a premium for it.

2 gigs of ram in the apple is a joke.

Leopard is far less memory intensive than Vista, so with 2GB the OS works extremely solid. Besides the all Aluminum Chassis, LED screen, Backlit Keyboard, amazing glass trackpad and Hybrid SLI chipset, the Macbook Pro has exceptional battery life (5 hours +), not to mention very light-weight and solidly built. Sure, having a beefier videocard is a bonus for gaming, but it kills battery life. Again, as Mutelight pointed out, it's not always as cut and dry as simply looking at the specs.
