Uh oh. My most trusted critic has panned it! [shocked]

Now, I enjoyed the Watchmen novel more than Lane, but I have no faith in Snyder, and I fear even in the hands of a capable director translating it into a film that lives up to the novel's éclat for deconstructing popular culture is virtually an impossible undertaking.
Sounds like he completely misunderstood the Watchmen? "nobody over twenty-five could take any joy from the savagery that is fleshed out onscreen" is just absolute crap.

Saw it last night and enjoyed the film, not everyones cup of tea though thats for certain. Rorschach, doc m and comedian were the best characters imo.

***Sort of spoiler***

The chick who plays laurie was absolutely terrible, almost spoilt the whole movie. The movie was very close to the comic book, however the ending was changed and therefore some of the other parts of the movie as well. Wasn't a bad change though, i thought they did it quite well and it all made sense. Some key points of the comic were left out which i thought was a shame for the character development.
