that's a myth.... best tyres should always go on the back. (for safety reasons).

you are both wrong. best tires go to the driving axle

meaning, if it's a FWD, they go to the FRONT
if its a RWD, they go to the back
and if its a AWD , usually to the back as it has 55 vs 45 percent driving force on most cars.
