i worked at 5 different mechanic shops in my little 3 years of experience and every single shop does it the way i describe it. So according to michellin, and goodyear all mechanic shops are wrong...

and if that is the case, then be it. Ill change ur tires wrong then


but on a serious note.. whatever the case may be, i do not know why so many shops do it wrong still.
well I'm also a mechanic by trade and an Aircraft Technician and I still got it wrong.

the misconception came about from what I can gather because people wanted to swap the tyres so that they have equal wear.

I had the rears changed on my beemer and basically BMW refused to swop the new tyres on the rear for the front ones which were a good 5 mm of meat.

his reasoning was that it would Impact on the vehicles Handling

I looked at him a bit miffed but now I understand [yes]
