I can understand how some young kids and be uncomfortable with someone missing a limb. Kids are frightened of all sorts of strange things, I used to be scared of a big stuffed monkey I had, as I used to think he stare at me at night while on my shelf and he'd come get me.
To ban the host from TV, that's just stupid. For the parents that have scared kids, don't let them watch the show. Simple really.

I guess she wont be hosting Hi-5 anytime soon.
Wrong. Make them watch the show. Tell them about disabilities, explain to them that its nothing freaky! Kids are only scared by what they dont know. My grandfather had lost a leg in WW2, and so missing limbs were never a big deal for us kids. We never looked weird at people with such disabilities.

So, I'd tell those parents to take a hike and leave it at that.
