The electric car is most definitely the future. If it wasnt for corrupt governments, corrupt oil companies, and corrupt car manufacturers, we'd all be driving electric now. You could recharge them using solar panels on the roof, or even with a wind turbine.
Not really,the problems with electric cars are range and recharge times,there have been a few that could suit people who only travel a small distance in a day,but that doesnt really suit most people's driving habits.

The recharge times are horrible too I think the best I've heard has still been in teh range of several hours VS. just gassing your car up and going.

Hydrogen is my pick as we lose nothing and could retrofit pretty much any car to use it for a comparatively small price.
