I thought this movie was pretty good. But it started off a little slow and boring if you ask me, of course the pace of the entire movie is slow but in the beginning I just wanted to fast forward. After that you get the beautiful landscape shots, with the pretty background music and it all gets a lot more interesting. As far as I know the ending is not accurate btw. But I don't know how credible a source wikipedia is on this subject.

Well no one really knows for sure what really happened... It even says that in your wiki link. We know he wrote 'EXTREMLY WEAK. FAULT OF POT. SEED...' aka the false potato seeds he ate in the movie that killed him. it seemed that he died of starvation but that's about all that anyone will ever know about it. Doesn't matter a whole lot exactly how it happened anyway.
