Speed racer was the ******* child that should never have been born.

The movie itself has potential as a random movie not related to any sort of childhood series. As a movie about the speed racer series its a steaming pile of dog excrement.

That being said its probably one of the first blu-ray movies I'll watch when I get my new home theater equipment. :P

And dragonball would have a better story? I wasn't expecting a good story with Speed Racer, I was expecting a visual mind trip, and well, I pretty much got that. The movie didn't take itself seriously and I watched it several times, I enjoyed all of the little visual bits in the movie. I also think they wove the flashbacks into the movie very well.

It was the first blue-ray movie I got, and I wasn't dissapointed.

As far as Speed Racer, a Speed Racer movie thats 100% true to the series can't be done, and make money on the big screen. Too few people would be interested in seeing it.
