What do you think of the Mayans or know about them? their calender ends in 2012.

Don't know a huge amount about the Mayans but I do know this: their long cycle calendar only ends in 2012, as much as our 2008 calendar ends on the 31st December 2008 or that the 20th century ended on the 31st December 1999. In other words, the number is simply arbitrary.
