Sounds like you didn't read their terms. Yeah it sucks, but I don't see anything out of the ordinary here. An error is an error. Yes it is their mistake, but if their terms really do state that part about discrepancies, then they are in the right. Maybe not very good business practise (had it been my business, I would have sent you the next model up for the same price), but they gave you a nice token, which they didn't have too.
