I think the power difference comes from the fuel... Here it's 95 / 98 / 99+... It's 95 premium there?

I know that your 98 octane is our 93 octane. So it shouldn't matter too much. Though maybe the SRT4 is tuned for 91 octane. I know that a lot of states on go as high as 91 octane, I think mostly on the west side of the Mississippi River.
So fuel could be it.

That's because VW's over there are made in Mexico. In the EU, they're made in Germany I believe and they're definately rock solid over here.

Might very on model. Seems like VW's and a lot of things off this platform are made every, and some still being made in Europe but in places like Spain, ect. Seems like you will only know when you actually go to the dealership. Though last time I went to the VW dealership, a majority of pretty much all the models were from Germany. Final Assembly though I am sure is the issue.
