Clarksons written review of the GT-R

I dare say that if Michael Schumacher were to find himself in the eye of an Arctic blizzard, escaping from an exploding volcano, he might discover 10% of this car’s abilities. But you? Me? Here? Forget it.

Nissan, then, has done something odd. It has built a car for a time and a place and a species that simply don’t exist.
but anyways, i was a little disappointed by the "race". hopefully when they do a follow up video review they will show more of it rather than cruising on a highway.

that said, even if they did stick it round the track on such a wet day, i would think it would still be at the pointy end. no other car could beat it in those conditions.

and for those of you that say it doesnt have soul or anything, try driving one of its older brothers. even though i didnt drive a proper gt-r, only a slightly modded gts25t, there is something about it thats pretty special. its not just a jap box with wheels that goes fast. it was 100% more fun that driving a SS ute with a LS1 which was about 6 years newer. and i wouldnt think they would drop the skyline name to rid the association with it being "just a car with fast bits added later" and make a pure GT-R and take steps backwards.

edit: also, my brothers car is a 91 year nissan, and it has attesa 4wd. people think that the technology "gets in the way" but i can tell you, rocketing out of corners when the g sensor detects sidewaysness and sends some power to the front wheels is pretty awesome. much more fun than plain awd which does understeer until your almost thru the corner, and rwd which wastes power not putting it to the road
