No he shouldn't. Not for the rest of his life... he didn't plan for that to happen. Negligence, yes, stupidity, yes ... intent, no, ... regret, hopefully.

Thats stupid. He willingly got drunk and willingly got behind the wheel. He should rot in jail for the rest of his life.
