I grew up in council estates and still live on one, the whole dont involved with young single mothers applys very much there.
The whole avoid single moms applies everywhere! You have to be really careful with single moms because even when they mature out and get serious with life in their 30's and 40's, they are still looking for a substitute father, even when they say they aren't looking for a daddy for the kid. That's B.S. You're supposed to be seriously involved in this woman's life and NOT have any relationship with the child? Give me a break! Then it gets messier because this teenage kid doesn't see you as his/her real father so you will have a rebellious out of control step child. Moral of the story: Be careful about single moms - they can be trouble, and that is why they are single and a mom! Of course, the exception being if they are widowed or if they got raped and decided to keep the child. Those events are out of their control.
