The future of uk Broadband....
I heard on the radio this morning that copyright theft agencies are seriously clamping down on piracy. they are demanding that it's the isp can be liable for the customers that use the internet to download copyrighted material.
they also mentioned on the radio that some providers are enforcing it already, where if a customer is considered to be an excessive user the will get a warning. if they do this three times, they will be banned from there service.
i have the upstairs and nextdoor niegbours paying me to share my internet connection, so a limit would be a serious no no.
my service provider vigin media is apparently introducing a 50mb service later this year, but with traffic shaping and with a possible download limit being put in place what would be the point.
Ther must be another way of preventing piracy ,than affecting the consumers that do abide the law.
