If they really wanted to put ads in games etc. what's stopping them from doing it already? I don't see how this technology changes anything.

I've only ever come across one DVD with an unskipable ad - or any ads at all for that matter (apart from trailers) - on it, which was Lord of War. Maybe ads on DVDs are more prevalent over there, I dunno.
