Amazon doesn't carry DRM music at all, hence the better quality.

But the point I am trying to make is that if Apple has a DRM version of a song, it shouldn't be on Amazon because as you say, Amazon don't carry DRM music.

The songs that have DRM on iTunes are that way because that's the way the music companies want it.
