How do you do the Heimlich while seated?

Good to know she's doing fine now. You should both do a First Aid course to prevent this kind of thing. If done properly, you should have gotten the piece of steak out quickly (though one of the lower ribs will break).

gratz on saving her life but agreed you should look into a class or at least online on how to do it correctly, you will break a bone but that means your doing it right

WTF are you guys talking about!??!! I've been to a couple classes for this, and if you're breaking bones, then you're doing it wrong.

To avoid breaking bones, never place your hands on the victim's breastbone or lower rib cage when performing the Heimlich maneuver. [ban]
