My wife complained of feeling unwell later on, and nearly had an Asthma attack too, so I phoned the NHS helpline (out of hours doctors emergency helpline) and they were horrified that the local hospital had just said to check on her in the morning.
They told me to take her to my closest Accident and Emergency asap as my repeated attempts at the heimlich manoeuvre could have left her with internal injuries and it was best to get her checked out by a Doctor.
So we both drove the 30+ miles to our local Hospital (you'd be f*cked in a life or death emergency), and they checked her out immediately, and after a thorough examination she was given a clean bill of health, Thankfully.
Her back and Sternum was quite bruised and she was sore today and just had some soup for dinner, she could'nt face any solid food.
She even went to work as usual this morning as she hates letting people down, she's a right little "trooper" and I'm immensely proud of her just carrying on as if nothing happened.
I also did my usual 12 hour day shift despite having only a few hours sleep.
At least she's ok now and its put a new perspective on life for us both, I felt so relieved that she was still alive today and bought her champagne, flowers and her favourite choccies to show her how much she means to me and that I'm ecstatic that I was able to save her when she really needed me most.
She's just amazed (I hope not too much) that I saved her over letting her croak it and me getting her life insurance of 200K.
I'm astonished that she thinks she means so little to me, I'd be heartbroken if I lost my Best friend and "soulmate".
Anyway...I might take a refresher First Aid course and get my family to come too, so that they know what to do in an emergency, should anything like this occur again (heaven forbid).
Just hope to God (if there is one) that You guys or your families never have to go through what My wife and I went through last night, We both would'nt wish that awful experience on our worst enemies. [no]
