I take it you have access to the website statistics to prove your point? Or are you basing your statement on a "feel-of-my-pants" thing? It's easy to claim something based on a feeling, especially when changes move things around, making it harder to compare the new with the old. For example, people seem to think that the MO boards were much busier than the FM ones, which isn't the case - take 3DMark releases: they've generated more posts, threads, traffic, downloads, etc with each launch.

Hell yeah - 15 lines of charlie for me, every day!

Bzzzt - wrong. Gaming discussions here, right from the early days, have been very popular. Sure some people buy the latest hardware just for benchmarking purposes but the majority actually buy RadeforceX83948GTSZZ graphics cards so that their games look and play better. If 3D gaming didn't exist, neither would Futuremark.

It was rather new, what do you expect?

GS and IGN don't hardware analyse games and tell you what they will look and play like across the range of hardware configurations; GS and IGN don't provide tools for you to check your machine against a game's requirements and provide an accurate report on how much faster your machine is against those; GS and IGN don't provide 3000+ in-depth reports on games which people will play for months on end - in other words, we're covering what they don't, simple as that.

vBulletin gives one considerably more tools, features, security, speed, stability than wwwthreads - the move was a no-brainer. And for somebody who's obviously hated the look of the forum since that change, you've done an awful lot of visiting and posting here since that time!

3DMark is definitely not being dumped - have you not kept up with all the "Next 3DMark" info and thread? Besides, and I'm repeating myself here yet again, historically Futuremark has always had a "gaming section" to their site. Back in 2001, it was called gamershq.madonion.com and featured reviews (by moi), news, competitions and so on. We couldn't give it the full resources that it needed and so it dropped down to just being news for a long time (hero of the decade = Joe). Now with the resources and tools available to do it properly, YouGamers exists as what we intended GamersHQ to be.

Who knows what the future holds - brainstorming meetings here tend to be pretty cool; lots of great ideas get generated but there's always the same question to answer them: "can we do it"? I think we should make boardgame benchmarks! "My monopoly scores 120,000 boardmarks" [yes]
That's all nice and dandy, Neeyik is awesome! [thumbup]

But doesnt change that subforums need go!!! please!!
